About Richmond

Richmond is an inner suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located 3 kilometres (1.86 miles) east of the city’s central business district and under the jurisdiction of the City of Yarra municipality. Despite the fact that Richmond is well-known for its dynamic and attractive Little Saigon neighbourhood along Victoria Street, the city is also well-known for illegal drug sales (particularly heroin), which happens both on the streets and in private homes.

Richmond is home to some of Melbourne’s most beautiful examples of domestic architecture from a variety of time periods, thanks to the vast number of modest houses that line its narrow streets. The bulk of the residences in Richmond are single-fronted Victorian style houses that were constructed between the 1850s and the 1930s. Typically, these residences are long, thin blocks with two bedrooms at the front and a family room/kitchen at the rear of the property.

Large parks are located in nearby suburbs, including the East Melbourne (Jolimont) parks Yarra Park and Melbourne Park, as well as Golden Square Bicentennial Park, Burnley Park and oval, the Burnley Golf Course (survey paddock), and a number of sport reserves and ovals in the neighbouring suburb of Burnley. Pridmore Park, Yarra Bank Reserve, Creswick Street Reserve, and St James Park are in Hawthorn, whereas Dickinsons Reserve, Yarra Bend Park, Studley Park Golf Course, and Studley Park are in Kew.

Our gym is at Brixton Hive, just off High St Rd.Located on the bike path in Glen Iris. Very close (few minutes walk) to Glen Iris station, High St tram, Monash Freeway. Very accessible by public transport, car, walk or ride.
